Ductless Heat Pump Efficiency Testing in Controlled Lab Conditions
Project Purpose: | The overall objective of the air source heat pump (ASHP) laboratory testing is to advance the understanding of ASHP performance in cold climates and to evaluate their suitability for providing space conditioning to buildings at Ft. Wainwright, Alaska. |
---|---|
Project Abstract: | The goal of this research project is to provide a recommendation on an appropriate ASHP model for buildings located at Ft. Wainwright, along with data and discussion about that recommendation. Research questions include: How does the COP of each ASHP vary with outside temperature (-30°C to 20°C) and differing heat loads (minimum, medium, and maximum)? What is the difference in performance of each heat pump between the steady state and integrated operating modes? |
